Hi, I’m Dawn

I am a trauma-informed somatic teacher and somatic movement coach specialising in working with people who have scoliosis and spinal conditions and chronic back pain.

My approach is nature-led, whole-person-centred, and collaborative.

I offer a body-focused, holistic process that blends strength and resistance training with somatic and nervous system practices. This helps clients move more efficiently while also processing the trauma, anxiety, and disconnection that often accompany chronic spinal conditions.

At the heart of my work is a unique framework that weaves together physical stability, emotional resilience, and a sense of belonging. I aim to provide comprehensive support, helping individuals regain trust in their bodies and confidence in moving more.

Posture Works was born from the experience I have had from the age of 12, been living with left lumbar scoliosis and I am now 60.  Those living with scoliosis and other spine/back conditions will understand how incredibly hard it can be to find the right help and try to workout how to move effectively and efficiently without causing injury or pain.

I have experienced first-hand how scoliosis affects both the body and mind and my aim is to support others who are fighting the same battles.

SCOLIOSIS SPECIFIC CONSULTATION

The 1:1 assessment takes place over a Zoom call, where we discuss your goals, health and movement history, lifestyle, and what you hope to gain from the coaching sessions or programme. We take time to assess your curve-type. Everything is designed specifically for you, allowing me to create a fully tailored programme that meets your individual needs.
